It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.

Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.

Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

Review: WOW! Wow. I started reading this book yesterday on August 10th and I finished it a few hours ago. This book is so creepy, twisted and mind blowing. Everything you could want out of a post-apocalyptic book is here. A heroine who second guesses herself but keeps her priorities in check. The mysterious, attractive love interest. A world that is actually falling apart and people are reacting realistically, desperately, fighting for survival.

Note: I started this review the day I finished this book which was a few weeks ago. (It's September 2nd now but I'll schedule the post for a few days from now too). Sadly, I'm less hyped than I was at that moment but I love the book so much! Though, truly, if you immerse yourself into this book you'll probably end up with nightmares. Fortunately, if I've had any, I can't remember them.

I've skimmed through some other reviews of Angellfall and a sentence that caught my eye was "Finally, a post-apocalyptic book/world done right!!" and I really couldn't agree more. This is brilliant.

Rating: 5/5 stars.
